COEUR d’ALENE — Halloween revelers will be given the royal trick-or-treat treatment by Dreams Are Forever Events on Oct. 30 and 31.

Halloween: A Drive-Through Spooktacular is a socially distant event that will take place in the Lake City High School parking lot.

More than 20 of the season's spookiest characters will conduct live performances at four different stations that guests can enjoy from the comfort of their cars.

The experience will begin on Treat Street. Visitors can trick-or-treat while listening to the special FM channel, featuring Halloween songs and stories.

Groups of four cars will be escorted by their own "ghost host." At each stop, guests will tune into 10-minute live performances featuring iconic Halloween characters. Visitors will go through Halloween Town, see the witches from "Hocus Pocus" and more.

"And there’s one special surprise guest, a spooky Halloween villain from Broadway,” Dreams are Forever manager Heather Roberts said Thursday.

She said the groundwork for this event was laid the week after the Fourth of July, when festivities were canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic.

"The people who feel like, 'I can’t go out yet,' I want them to feel safe in their own car and the kids still have that experience and they don’t lose a whole year of their lives, like the Fourth of July they never got," she said.

"A lot of our performers are late teens and 20s, and they are going through a really tough time right now. I'm really surprised how important it is for them to give back to the community, to give those smiles, to have joy and do it through performing and art. And these are talented performers, singers, thespians. They are amazing and they work every day on this."

Up to four guests are recommended per vehicle. The adventure will run roughly an hour and a half.

Tickets are $15 per person or $60 per four-person vehicle. The event goes from 4 to 8 p.m., 20 vehicles per hour.

LCHS is at 6101 N. Ramsey Road, Coeur d'Alene.
