10-09-2020
Day Shift handled the following notable calls:
• Detectives located a stolen Chevy Silverado (out of CDA) on Ramsey at Dalton. Deputies arrived as a cover just as the vehicle was pulling into the Exxon on Prairie and Ramsey. Two people were detained and CDA arrived and took over the investigation. 20-43877
• A Deputy a vehicle on Sherman Ave. and Theis Ln. in Fernan. After a lengthy investigation, he arrested the female for trafficking in Heroin. 20-43903
• A Deputy handled a hit and run crash on Ramsey Rd. near Highway 53 involving a yellow Mac Dump Truck as the suspect vehicle. 20-43931
• CSO handled an auto burglary at 15798 N. Rimrock Rd. involving a winch stolen of a vehicle. 20-43925
Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:
• Several City and County units to the intersection of Ramsey X Prairie for an Injury Crash with a vehicle into a power pole. On scene, units determined the jurisdiction was CDA's. No injuries were apparent and no one was transported. 20-43961
• Deputies responded to approximately mm 3 on FSR 332 Rd. for a truck that had rolled over a 100 foot embankment. The truck rolled approximately 18 times, and came to rest on its top. Miraculously, there were no injuries. The driver was cited for inattentive driving. 20-43969
• Several units responded to Mik's on 4th street to assist CDAPD with a fight call. 20-43992
Night Shift handled the following notable calls:
• Deputies responded to the casino for a battery report. Several subjects got into a physical altercation. Two subjects were cited for battery. 20-43982
• A Deputy stopped a vehicle at Highway 95 X Cherry Ln. He made contact with the driver, a 16 YOM and another 16 YOM. The driver exhibited the symptoms of intoxication. He failed SFST's and later provided two breath samples of .123/.128. He was charged for DUI. 20-44001
• A male called in to advise he believes he is being scammed by the casino. He said he and the manager had words some time ago and since COVID began, he claims to have lost approximately $30K at the casino without winning a penny and believes it’s because of the argument. The male was reminded what gambling was and the risks associated with it and to contact casino leadership for further assistance. 20-44002
• Deputies responded to Showgirls for a citizen dispute. The investigation revealed this to be a personnel matter and no crime was committed. 20-44004
Notable calls for the day!

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:
• A Rec. Safety Deputy assisted medical with a patient who fell in the forest service and who suffered a compound fracture.
• Deputies responded to W. Leisure Dr. in Hayden for a welfare check on an 85 YO male, as he hasn't been seen by neighbors for a few days and newspapers were stacking on his front steps. No family lives in the area and there was no key that could be located to enter his residence. Deputies were able to gain entry into the residence and located the male deceased. Nothing suspicious was located however during the investigation, it was learned the male was a Vietnam and Korean War vet who retired as a captain in the Marine Corps. Additional Deputies responded in addition to the other units on scene, and the army veteran neighbor, so a salute could be presented to the male he exited the residence. Next of kin was notified. 20-44013
Evening shift handled the following notable calls:
• Deputies responded to W. Kidd Island Rd. reference a Family Dispute involving 15yom who was described as being "out on temporary release". On scene units determined the juvenile was not following the rules of the house and generally acting out. They had a long conversation and it was determined that he is immature and does not quite understand the reality of life and consequences. They spoke with juvenile and his family to help them communicate better. 20-44095
• A Deputy responded to E Trinity Lane for a vehicle theft. An R/P called to report her 2006 Chevy Silverado being stolen by her granddaughter. It was determined that granddaughter had her own key to the truck as it was her daily driver, as previously allowed by grandma. Grandma told her to return the vehicle a few days prior, which she refused and gave excuses why she couldn't. Deputies attempted to call the granddaughter several times, but she would not answer. The vehicle was entered into NCIC, and she was charged via complaint for taking without owner's consent. 20-43989
• A Deputy responded to N. Altamont Rd. reference a Welfare Check on a female that had allegedly left work "high" and left her phone at work as well. The female was found in her residence fine, but apparently very drowsy and not feeling well. 20-44081
• A Deputy responded with PFPD to a hotel on W. 5th Ave. in Post Falls reference a possible Domestic issue. PFPD handled the call.
Night Shift handled the following notable calls:
• Deputies responded to a welfare check at the casino. A highly intoxicated tribal male was wondering the parking lot, being belligerent and saying he could not find his car. Just prior to LE arrival, the male found his car and left S/B on Highway 95. Deputies were UTL. 20-44114
• Deputies responded to Nashville North for a reported assault with a knife. A male was involved in a scuffle inside the bar. All involved were kicked out by bouncers. Approximately 40 minutes later, the male was still loitering around in the parking lot. A bouncer went outside and observed the male standing in the dark next to the door with two fixed blade knives in his hands. When he was told to leave he told the bouncer they needed to stop following him or he would stab them. The male then left walking away. Deputies were able to locate the male who was not cooperative. He was ultimately arrested for aggravated assault and obstructing. 20-44098
• Deputies responded to N. Clarkview Pl. for a suicide threat. A male had been texting his wife, who was at work, vague suicidal statements. He was contacted and admitted to sending the text messages, but was not actually suicidal. He stated he is having marital issues. Region 1 mental health was contacted and spoke to the male on scene. He did not meet the criteria for a PC. He was given info on the crisis center as well. 20-44104
• Deputies responded to the Holiday Inn Express attached to Triple Play for a reported assault. Dispatch relayed a male was yelling at people, threatening to kill them and allegedly brandished a handgun. Contact was made with a male who was highly intoxicated. The investigation revealed the male was not armed, but apparently had his hand held in a manner that looked like he may have been holding a firearm. He was placed under citizen’s arrest for assault. 20-44113
• A Deputy assisted ISP on an unknown injury crash at Highway 95 X Aqua Ave. A vehicle had struck a light pole and was in the median. ISP handled the investigation. 20-44116
Notable calls for the day!
10-11-2020
Day Shift handled the following notable calls:
• A Deputy took a report in the area of the 8600 block of Kildea Rd. A homeowner built a custom mailbox stand in the right of way area along the road. He and two other neighbors put their mailboxes on the stand. A new neighbor moved into the area and built a house. He thought the stand was where mailboxes were supposed to go so that is where he put his for his new address. The homeowner took issue with the mailbox on his stand that was placed without his permission. Deputies were able to smooth things over and the new neighbor removed his mailbox and will put up his own post.
• A Deputy took a cold report of a fight between Elk hunters in the Mason Saddle area sometime on Saturday morning. The R/P reported other hunters were camping in the roadway and blocking access and an argument ensued. There was no crime, but an FI was completed and Back Country Deputies notified.
• Deputies responded to E. Hayden Ave. for an unattended death. An elderly male was found deceased in bed by his recent ex-wife. The male did have medical issues and lived near other relatives. Nothing suspicious noted.
• A report of a gunshot was heard in the area of Kingswood Ln. Elk were also seen in the area. The R/P called it to report the gunshot as she thought it was too close to I-90 to be safe (did not see the shot, just heard) cleared with an advisory as centerfire Elk season is open.
• Deputies responded to W Brookside Dr. for a report of a suicidal subject. A 17 year old female was reported as out of control and possibly trying to harm herself and having seizures. Once on scene it was determined that the female did not make any threats of suicide, but this was a medical issue. The female was transported to KH by family members.
• A CSO took an auto burglary report in the area of Hwy 53 and Prairie Ave. Cases for survey equipment was stolen out of the canopy area of a work truck while the surveyor was out setting his lines.
Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:
• Deputies responded to the area of Honeysuckle and 95 for a stolen vehicle. Deputies intercepted the vehicle and conducted a felony traffic stop. The driver and passenger were detained without incident. During the investigation it was learned that driver had possibly kidnapped his girlfriend and stole his father’s vehicle approximately three weeks prior after a domestic incident. After a lengthy investigation, it was learned the passenger several times had the ability to come and go as she pleased. A report was taken documenting all the statements and forwarded to the Oshkosh Police to follow up on. The driver was arrested for being in possession of a stolen vehicle and the passenger was arrested on her active warrant. 20-44178
• Deputies responded to the Canfield Trailhead on Fernan Lake Rd. in regards to a missing person. Dispatch advised that an R/P was calling advising his friend was lost on a trail. The lost male then called 911 himself and advised he was freezing cold and needed assistance. Deputies walked up the mountain and finally located the male who was well off trail (the males pockets and backpack were full of rocks and he claimed to have been “prospecting”). After successfully getting the male back to the road deputies attempted to get a friend to pick him up however it was unsuccessful. Deputies offered to drive the male to his residence and he agreed. While patting male down for weapons, marijuana was located in his pocket. Heroin and methamphetamine was then located in the males backpack. The male was arrested for the drug charges. 20-44183
• Deputies responded to I90 near milepost 9 in regards to a possible stolen vehicle. Deputies assisted in stopping the vehicle and Post Falls Police took primary.
• Deputies responded to W. Hwy 53 in regards to a threatening call. While on scene it was learned that the R/P had called in and reported her ex-boyfriend, had threatened to burn down the house she was currently at. The threat was made via text. The two were broken up however they still live together in the city of Rathdrum. The female is currently staying with her friend because male refuses to move out. Ultimately Deputies and Rathdrum PD were able to contact the male who was intoxicated and because female did not want to pursue charges for telephone harassment he was warned. 20-44180
• Deputies responded to Clagstone and Wandering Moose trail for single vehicle injury accident. The driver and her son were treated for minor injuries.
• Deputies responded to N. Elton Ln for the report of an Overdose. Upon arrival it was learned that the RP had called to report his mother overdosing on alcohol. The R/P was upset that his parents had drank too much and believed his mother could have been in danger. Medical arrived and transported the female to KH. There was no crime or intent to harm herself. According to all parties, they were celebrating.
• Deputies responded to the area of Three Forks Rd and Left Fork Rd for a missing person. The RP called to say his grandson was missing after hunting. While enoute, the RP called back to say male was located and was fine. 20-44185
Night Shift handled the following notable calls:
• A Deputy Responded to Echo Bay Rd reference the RP calling in suspicious activity at his neighbor's house. He said there was a car high centered in the yard and people walking around. Contact was made with the elderly RO and it was discovered he high-centered his car and had a wrecker enroute.
