VEHICLE FEE: Gas tax a better idea

The $50 registration fee for each auto in Kootenai County is one of the worst ideas placed on the ballot in 2020. This forces all autos in Kootenai County to be responsible for road repair used by Washington, as well as other states and large trucking companies. In review of my voting ballot, I find most of the repairs are the responsibility of the Idaho Transportation Department or one of the road districts or the county. The idea of a $.02 cent increase in gas tax is far better and not recessive. Many people from Washington come here to buy their gas. We have many travelers from all over who buy gasoline here and pass on through. If I drive my car 10,000 miles a year and pay an extra $.02 a gallon for gas and get 20 mpg. It costs me an extra $10 to drive 10,000 miles.

This is the fair and best way to cover the expense of road repair. VOTE NO.
