MEALS: Wheels roll beautifully

In response to the letter this week from Diana Oswald who trashed the Meals on Wheels program, I have to strenuously take exception.

I am a volunteer driver for the Meals on Wheels program in Coeur d’Alene which is run by our terrific Senior Center. The chef at the Senior Center prepares excellent and nutritious meals which are then delivered promptly by generous volunteers. There is absolutely no doubt that these meals are hand delivered by noon every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The Tuesday, Thursday and weekend meals are also delivered frozen for the days there are no deliveries.

It was a real slap in the face to all the great people who prepare and deliver these meals to the clients.

I hope Ms. Oswald will do a little research in the future before blasting a wonderful service.
