Pumpkin Giveaway at Library Oct. 16
The city of Coeur d’Alene Composting Facility has a bumper crop of pumpkins and the Coeur d’Alene Public Library will give them away Friday, Oct. 16, beginning at 9 a.m., from the lower parking lot on the McEuen Park side of the building.
And patrons are invited to use these pumpkins or their own for a Pumpkin Decorating Contest.
“We really appreciate the Wastewater Department for providing the pumpkins every year,” Circulation Manager Tyler McLane. “This is a very unique interdepartmental partnership within the city and something we can all enjoy.”
In previous years the library has hosted a Pumpkin Painting Party in the Community Room and invited participants to display their work throughout the building for patrons to vote on as part of a contest. Due to COVID restrictions, that is not possible this year.
The Oct. 16 event will be a drive-through activity. Participants will remain in their vehicles and library staff will hand out the pumpkins. Bagged decorating supplies will also be available.
Entry forms for the decorating contest can be downloaded from www.facebook.com/CDALibrary.
