VEHICLE FEE: Add gas tax instead

I don’t understand where KMPO thinks they should decide what roads or highways should be fixed. We have a highway district for this. This is why we pay a state gas tax and they also raised the registration fees on certain vehicles because they used less gas.

By the way, who is going to keep track of the cars to be registered in Kootenai County? Right now a lot of people do not register them; you see people from Washington, Montana, southern Idaho, Alaska who use an old address or someone else’s because it is less expensive than ours.

It would be fair to add a two cent gas tax in the county and then everyone would pay, even people from out of state or people with improper registration.
