LEWISTON — Freshman Rebekah Hines had a goal and an assist as the 3A Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy Panthers knocked off a 5A team for the third time this season, beating the Lewiston Bengals 3-0 on Monday at Walker Field.
Coeur d’Alene Charter (10-1-1) went 3-1-1 against 5A schools this season, beating Post Falls twice, tying Coeur d’Alene and losing to a combined Lake City varsity/JV squad.
“This was a very positive outcome for us on the road,” Charter coach Stacy Smith said. “Lewiston is strong and has some very speedy players. Our backing was put under pressure and we were able to stop their speed and weather a little bit of chaos in the first half. It’s great to have that challenge as we get closer to districts.”
