Wade running for conservation district supervisor

| October 3, 2020 1:00 AM

Valerie Wade is running for Kootenai-Shoshone Soil and Water Conservation District supervisor.

She is a geologist and registered environmental health specialist from Shoshone County. Wade said she became interested in running for a supervisor position on the Kootenai-Shoshone Soil and Water Conservation District after learning about the history and positive impact it had on private land owners and water quality.

She said her experience working as a septic inspector, geologist, and performing stream surveys and restoration will be helpful when assisting landowners with conservation, sustainment, improvement, and enhancement of Idaho’s natural resources.

Wade is also a graduate of the University of Idaho’s Stormwater and Erosion Program and is a supporter of the prevention of invasive species into Idaho’s pristine water bodies.

She said changing landscapes due to growth in Shoshone and Kootenai County are inevitable and she is up for the challenge of working with landowners to conserve and protect Idaho’s natural resources.

"Thank you for your vote and confidence in Valerie’s ability to work on a team whose only goal is to continue to do work that benefits our counties and conserves Idaho’s beauty and value for generations to come," a press release said.
