Birgid Niedenzu said she has filed to be a candidate for Kootenai-Shoshone Soil Conservation District advisory board.

She is a science teacher, volunteer EMS/firefighter, a mother of three and married to Cooper Wester.

She has lived in Kootenai county for 25 years, 24 of which have been on the East Side of Lake Coeur d'Alene on the way to Harrison, at the base of Mount Coeur d'Alene.

"I am interested in protecting the soil and water of North Idaho for current and future generations of Idahoans, that is why I filed for candidacy," she wrote.
