Shoes and Brews fun run

set for Saturday

Walkers and runners are encouraged to come out for the Shoes & Brews 5K Fun Run on Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Kiwanis Park in Post Falls.

The event is a non-competitive, self-timed event, with awards for best costume. Finishers will receive a T-shirt and medal. Those over 21 years of age will receive a punch card with different brew related partners that they can redeem for prizes.

There is no registration on the day of the event.

Jackass Half Marathon

scheduled for Saturday

The Historic Silver Valley Chamber of Commerce will hold the first Jackass Half Marathon and 5K race on Saturday, starting in Wallace.

The half marathon and 5k race courses are point-to-point and (mostly) downhill, so they are the perfect experience for beginner runners.
