Linda Marie Fahner, 71

| October 1, 2020 1:00 AM

Linda Marie Fahner, 71, a loving wife, mother and nana, passed away peacefully on Sept. 27, 2020. Linda was born Aug. 31, 1949, in Loma Linda, Calif., to Donna Harshaw and Grady Wayne Cotner, and was raised in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Linda met her husband, Joseph Fahner, in Cheyenne. Wyo., and they married on Nov. 10, 1978. They spent 41 wonderful years raising one son, Matthew, and three daughters, Melissa, Megan and Erin.

Linda held several different professions throughout her life, but she was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nana. She had a vivacious personality and danced her way through life making friends wherever she went. Linda was adventurous, except when it came to food, and traveled near and far during her life. She was the life of the party and celebrated every occasion to the fullest.

Linda will be greatly missed by many lifelong friends as well as by her loving family. Linda is survived by her stepfather, Marvin Harshaw; her husband, Joe Fahner; sisters Debbie and Lisa; son, Mathew; and daughters, Melissa, Megan and Erin. Linda is also survived by her six grandchildren whom she loved dearly: Kayla, Seth, Spencer, Mason, Maclain, and Ireland, as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom she adored and loved spending time with.

Linda is preceded by her mother and father, Donna and Grady Wayne; brother, Doc; mother and father-in-law, John and Dorthy Fahner; and her beloved Teddy, a miniature Yorkshire terrier that stole her heart.

In true Linda fashion, it was her wish to be celebrated and not mourned over in a traditional sense. The family will hold a celebration of life later in the spring/summer in Coeur d’Alene. Should friends or family desire, donations may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association to help further the mission to create a world without Alzheimer’s.
