Hope boat launch renovation date set
HOPE — The Hope boat launch will close in early November for scheduled renovations, according to Bonner County Waterways officials.
BCW officials said the department will close the boat launch on Monday, Nov. 2.
Renovations will include completely taking out the current ramp and replacing the broken pre-cast panels with thicker and wider panels. These new panels have a better finish for traction control and durability should last much longer than current ones, officials said.
"With these new panels the launch will be a bit longer and we hope that this will make it much easier to launch during the winter months," officials said in a press release.
The boat launch is expected to be closed from Nov. 2 to Dec. 15.
"Unfortunately we cannot push this project to any other time due to grant deadlines and the temperatures needed for pouring concrete," officials said.
During this time the entire launch will be closed and will not allow any boat traffic from the launch. Alternative launch sites include the Pringle Park boat launch in Hope, Bonner Park West in Priest River, Garfield Bay in Sagle, and Laclede launch site.
Any and all question or concerns should be directed to Bonner County Recreation and Waterways Department at 208-255-5681 extension 4 or Recreation@bonnercountyid.gov.
