Ghostober is upon us
Happy October, everyone.
Or, as some call it, Ghostober.
October is a great — nay, the BEST — time of year to celebrate the spooky and the strange, the things that go bump in the night and the chilling tales of terror that give us a fright.
Everyone has a ghost story, or knows someone who has a ghost story. Kootenai County is no exception — from the sacred tribal grounds to the Fort Grounds to the Wild West days and steamboat craze, countless souls have passed through North Idaho.
Perhaps a few left a bit of themselves behind.
Old houses creak on still nights. Lights seemingly turn themselves on or off. Voices carry on the wind when no one is there.
As the days grow shorter and Halloween draws ever closer, The Press is seeking the local ghost stories that keep readers awake at night. Or maybe a presence is presently making itself known. Well, then, let it be known.
