PHD: 241 new cases is single-day record

The Panhandle Health District reported a single-day record of 241 new coronavirus cases on Friday.

That brings the PHD's total cases to 8,485, with 99 deaths and 5,673 closed cases. There are a total of 67 hospitalizations in the PHD due to the virus.

Kootenai Health reported it had a record-high 54 coronavirus patients, 10 in critical care.

Kootenai County had 178 new cases on Friday, bringing its total to 6,598 COVID-19 cases, including 70 deaths attributed to the virus. It has 4,466 inactive cases, leaving 2,132 active cases in a county with a population of about 165,000
