Traffic, deer meetings set in Dalton Gardens

| November 17, 2020 1:00 AM

The Dalton Gardens City Council is scheduled to meet 6 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall. Council members and engineers will discuss a reduction in through traffic.

Earlier this year, the council voted to make the town’s routes off limits to commercial vehicles weighing over 26,000 pounds.

Many residents believe the traffic count needs to be reduced.

The City Council will also meet 5 p.m. Dec. 1 at City Hall to continue talks on a proposal to allow deer hunting within city limits.

A Nov. 5 meeting on deer hunting drew about 15 people in person and more online. Most objected to the plan, but city officials said the deer population is too large, deer are suffering and hunting may help thin their numbers and lead to a healthier population.
