Notable calls for the day!

11-13-2020

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies and medical personnel responded to Prairie Ave. and Government Way for a two vehicle injury crash where a 70 year old female was having chest pains. Medical evaluated 3 patients but did not transport any. 20-49085

• A Deputy responded to a property damage crash at the 5200 block of 16th St. in Post Falls. 20-49092

• A Deputy responded to E. Midtown Lane in Hayden and arrested a female for a warrant. 20-49087

• A Deputy arrested a female for an FTA warrant at DMV. 20-49117

• A Deputy handled a property damage crash at Ramsey Rd. and Longhorn St. near Rathdrum where a vehicle struck a tree. 20-49108

• A Patrol Sergeant and fire personnel responded to N. Jonathan St. in Hayden for a hazardous material call. The resident was not sure what was leaking and believed it was more of a chemical smell than a gas smell. Fire personnel could not find a source and were uncertain what was leaking. When the wind changed direction, The Sergeant, who was standing in the road, noticed a smell and was immediately taken back to his academy days and the smell of Oleoresin Capsicum (pepper spray). A subsequent check of the resident's hunting bag led to the discovery of his can of bear spray with a tooth puncture from one of his dogs. 20-49125

• A Deputy responded to JDC and arrested a juvenile male for his warrant. 20-49124

Deputies responded to Prairie Ave. and Highway 95 for a two vehicle head-on crash. One elderly patient was transported to KH for non-life threatening injuries. 20-49131

• A Deputy handled a grand theft at Sleepy Lane near CDA. The theft occurred electronically as the victim noticed an unauthorized charge on her bank account for over $1800 through wayfair.com. 20-49105

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:

• A Deputy arrested a juvenile male at JDC after he arrived to turn himself in on his warrants. 20-49184

Night Shift handled the following notable calls:

• A Deputy stopped a vehicle at Prairie Ave. and Carolwood Dr. He made contact with the driver and smelled the odor of marijuana emanating from inside. A search revealed dispensary marijuana and paraphernalia. The driver was charged with possession. 20-49193

• A Deputy stopped a vehicle at Seltice Way and Baugh Way. He made contact with the driver who exhibited the symptoms of intoxication. He failed SFST's and provided breath samples of .141/.131. A search incident to arrest revealed an e-cigarette infused with THC and a prescription pills without a prescription bottle. The driver was charged for DUI, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a prescription drug without a prescription. 20-49201

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to E. Miles Ave. in Hayden for a threatening involving a firearm. The R/P said a former employee showed up to his residence and demanded he pay her for work she had done. The employee was there with her boyfriend who had a firearm on his hip but did not take it out of the holster. Both were trespassed from the property. 20-49244

• Deputies responded to the Hayden Library for a trespassing involving a male who was using profanity in protest to the mask requirement. He was contacted on scene and trespassed from the Hayden Library. 20-49248

• A Deputy handled a PD crash on Warren Rd. and Brunner Rd. involving a vehicle which struck an Avista pole yesterday. The driver was cited for failure to notify and inattentive. 20-49247

• Deputies responded to the area of Highland Dr. and Riverview Dr. for reports of mail theft that just occurred. A suspect vehicle description was aired, and after following some leads, Deputies located the vehicle at the Worley Smoke shop. Two occupants were contacted and arrested. One was charged with grand theft and possession of stolen property. The other was charged with possession of stolen property, accessory to grand theft, and possession of paraphernalia (meth pipe). It appears the two may have been involved with other mail thefts in other parts of the county as they were in possession of a $2000 check they stole in Harrison yesterday. 20-49237

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to a Panic Alarm W. Shale Ct. Nothing found on scene. 20- 49277

• Deputies responded to N. Huetter Rd. for a Psychological. On scene they learned a male and female reside there together. The male was irritated when he got home from work. The female was also irritated and the two began arguing, however the male then began throwing things around in the house. Each party stated there was no physical contact between them, and male usually just takes a walk to cool down. FI completed. 20-49278

• Several units responded to N. Baldy Way for a Family Dispute involving two males. While enroute an additional updates was that one of the males now had a gun. Due to this information, units from PFPD who were in the area offered their assistance. PFPD units set a perimeter while KCSO units dealt with the two males and secured them. After investigating, it was determined there was never a weapon involved, and the argument was over rent. 20-49279

• Deputies responded to the area of Flatwoods Loop and N. Atlas Rd. reference a male juvenile who ran away from W. Camrose Ln. During the call, male made active attempts to avoid being found by not only his father who was out looking for him, but Deputies as well by hiding in the trees etc. Eventually he was urged to turn himself in by a friend who had been in contact with him. The juvenile was released into the custody of his father. 20-49288

• A Deputy stopped a vehicle near the Kon-Tiki Lounge on Seltice. Additional Deputies responded as cover. The female refused to identify herself, but her identity was eventually discovered and she was eventually arrested for DUI, DWP, Resisting/Obstructing, Mara, Para, and a Warrant. She was transported to PSB as an uncooperative subject. 20-49295

• A Deputy handled a Threatening call by phone wherein a male suspect was using several profanity laced tirades through texts and unwanted phone calls to his wife. He had also threatened to kill himself and others. The Deputy was hung up on several times before the Deputy was finally able to speak to him to advise him he was going to be charged with Stalking. He is also on State Probation and his P.O. was advised. 20-49290

Night Shift handled the following notable calls:

• A Deputy responded to W. Fisher Ave. for a malicious injury report. The R/P advised he got into an argument with his aunt, and she keyed his car. 20-49298

• A Deputy handled a theft call at the Casino. R/P called in and advised his on again off again boyfriend had accessed his cell phone and transferred $100 to himself through the R/P’s Facebook pay account. 20-49300

• A Deputy attempted to stop a vehicle at Ramsey and Wilbur, however, the vehicle continued N/B on Ramsey and pulled into the gas station parking lot at Prairie and Ramsey. The driver exhibited the symptoms of intoxication. The driver failed SFST's but refused to provide a breath sample. He was arrested for DUI. 20-49307

• A Deputy stopped a vehicle at Seltice and Baugh. He contacted the driver who exhibited the symptoms of intoxication. He failed SFST's and provided breath samples of .111/.110. He was arrested for DUI. 20-49308

• Deputies responded to the area of Greensferry Rd. and Ridge Line Ln. for a reported vehicle crash through OnStar. It was relayed the driver had slid off the roadway and was on the edge of the steep embankment. The driver was able to get out of the vehicle safely and without it going over the edge. The crash was caused due to the extremely slick conditions. 20-49312

• A Deputy took a theft report from E. Wishful Trl. The R/P called in advising she believed her mother, who was not permitted to be at her residence, had stolen clothes and a necklace. The R/P said she caught her mother inside the residence the day before and she had a bag full of clothes. The mother could not be contacted. A complaint request was filed for petit theft. 20-49314

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to Baldy Way for a family dispute. On scene, deputies contacted the R/P (fourth contact in approx. 13 hours). He stated he was having substance abuse issues as well as issues related to finances and grief from the recent passing of a relative. He stated he was not suicidal, but upset about issues and requested to speak to a pastor at a local church. It was arranged to transport the male to the church and he was dropped off to meet with a staff member. After a few minutes, church staff called to report the male was becoming hostile and was now making threats to harm himself. Deputies returned to the church and took the male into custody for a PC hold.

• Deputies responded to the Cornerstone Baptist Church for a report of a wanted person. As deputies staged in the area around the church they spotted the wanted person’s truck as he drove toward the church. Deputies conducted a felony traffic stop near Huetter and Mullan due to a report he was possibly armed with a handgun. The male was taken into custody for his warrant without incident.

• Deputies responded to the area of the Amerimart in Stateline for report of a male, sitting at a gas pump, passed out in the driver's seat. Deputies located the male just as he was leaving the parking lot and stopped the car. After the investigation a male was arrested for DUI (BrAC .309). Due to a medical issue (not related to DUI), he was transported to KH for clearance. The male offered the Deputies the money in his pocket, approximately $5000.00 if they let him go. The male was also charged with attempting to bribe a peace officer.

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to the area of Beck and Prairie for the report of a crash. A male was driving south on Beck when a cow escaped from his fenced enclosure and walked in front of the vehicle. It was discovered the area was closed range and a report was completed. The driver was uninjured however the cow has some possible life threatening issues and was left in the care of the owner. 20-49375

• Deputies stopped a vehicle in the area of Drawbridge Ct and Strahorn Rd and arrested a male for his warrant (FTA for battery) 20-49380

• Deputies responded to N Ramsgate in regards to a juvenile problem. Deputies are familiar with this address as the two juveniles living at the residence are regularly contacted. Upon arrival it was learned that a 10 year old female was upset with her mother and threw various items at her mother. Charges were filed on the child as this was not the first time for something like this. 20-49383

• A Deputy stopped a vehicle on Interstate 90 at milepost 8. The vehicle was previously called in for failing to maintain lanes and attempting to run people off the road. ISP arrived and conducted SFST’s and did not believe the male to be under the influence. Marijuana and paraphernalia was located in the vehicle and the Deputy attempted to cite and release the male. The male refused to accept the citation and wanted his marijuana back as he believed we were wrong and it was in fact legal. The Deputy again explained they were in Idaho and it was illegal and was going to complete a citation. The male continued to refuse and requested to be arrested. Based on the driving behavior, multiple 911 calls, and the possession of marijuana, the Deputy obliged the male and took him into custody. 20-49381

• A Deputy responded to the area of Kelly Rae and Government Way for the report of a suspicious person. It was believed an intoxicated male was opening mailboxes in the area. The Deputy located a male and discovered him to be on probation. He was cooperative with the investigation and it was learned he was only walking in the area and not opening mailboxes. The male’s Probation Officer was contacted and he requested the male be arrested on an agents warrant. According to the Probation Officer, they had been attempting to get a warrant his arrest since 11/02/20. 20-49392

Night Shift handled the following notable calls:

• A Deputy responded to E. 16th Ave in Post Falls in regards to a possible vehicle theft. Upon the Deputy’s arrival, the vehicle was back on scene. While investigating, it could not be determined if the vehicle had actually left the property as all parties were severely intoxicated and the accounts of what transpired did not entirely make sense. Ultimately, the R/P did not wish to pursue charges for operating without owners consent, and the “suspect” did not wish to pursue charges for a battery that occurred. 20-49404

• A Deputy responded N. Meadow View Ln in regards to a breathing difficulty turned into CPR in progress. Upon the Deputies arrival he assisted with CPR however the male was declared deceased by medical. At the completion of the investigation nothing suspicious was discovered. 20-49419
