ROADS: This tax might work

More than 30 years ago, the county wanted a new jail. To raise the money, Kootenai County raised the sales tax to 6.5 cents. Money was collected faster than planned, then the sales tax went back to 6 cents on the dollar.

I don’t know if this could be done for the money for the roads. If it could be done, not only would residents of the county help pay but surrounding counties and out-of-staters would contribute. Just a thought.
