MASKS: Free to choose

| November 6, 2020 1:00 AM

After reading responses about wearing masks, I decided to do a little research. I looked up what doctors had to say about wearing masks. A few said they would help but more said they don’t help or protect you, especially the cutesy cloth ones. Even the ones they hand out should be worn once then thrown away, who does that. The WHO organization says that they don’t believe there should be mandatory mask wearing, only those who are infected with the virus. Our own CDC flip flops depending on the political whim of the day. European doctors fear they will do more harm than good. Doctors in America have differing ideas.

Here is my humble opinion. If you feel better and more protected wearing a mask, by all means, wear one. If you are elderly or have compromised health issues wear one. If you choose not to wear one, then don’t. For those of you who choose to wear one please don’t criticize those who don’t. If you believe that masks work and you’re wearing one that should be good enough. I’m beginning to think that those who believe that masks work must think theirs are compromised in some way to insist that someone who doesn’t wear one should.

We are educated adults and should be able to decide what is right for us. No one is “selfish” for not wearing one. If you choose to live in fear, maybe you should stay home more often.
