Notable calls for the day!

10-30-2020

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to N. Crimson Dr. and Lacey Ave. in Hayden for a welfare check on a person sitting in a vehicle. Units arrived and contacted a female. The female provided a name, however there was no record of the female anywhere in the places she said she lived and her story just wasn't making sense. After playing the name game for a while, a FBI Agent arrived on scene with a digital fingerprint scanner. The female began crying and changed her name again. This name was confirmed with the scanner and the female had a warrant out of Kootenai County. The female was also charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and paraphernalia. 20-47037

• Deputies and SIU Detectives responded to N. Trafalgar St. after neighbors reported seeing two wanted subjects at the residence. The home owner was contacted and ultimately allowed the residence checked for them. A short time later, the two subjects opened a locked bedroom door where they were hiding. Both were taken into custody. The warrants were reference several mail thefts and the use of FTC devices that were taken from the area. 20-47030

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:

• While patrolling in the Backcountry, a Deputy located a vehicle on the 612 near the 802 abandoned in the roadway with severe front end damage and airbag deployment. The vehicle also had blood smeared on the inside of it. The Deputy was unable to locate anyone on scene or in the area. The Deputy completed quite a bit of leg work to locate the possible occupants. It was confirmed two occupants were in the vehicle and were not injured as a result of the accident. The vehicle was towed. 20-47077

• A Deputy responded to Super 1 Foods-Athol for a cooperative shoplifter. After investigating, the male was issued several citations. 20-47080

• Several Deputies responded to the area of Hayden Creek for a reported large bonfire party with underage drinking. Deputies responded, however found nothing on scene.

Night Shift handled the following notable calls:

• A Deputy stopped a vehicle at Beck Rd. and Seltice Way. The driver exhibited the symptoms of intoxication. He failed SFST's and provided breath samples of .147/.156. He was charged with DUI. 20-47141

• Deputies responded to N. 16th Ave. in Spirit Lake for an overdose as there was no SLPD units on to handle. A female called in and advised she intentionally overdosed on pills and was now regretting her decision. Medical responded and transported her to the hospital for treatment. 20-47148

• A Deputy came upon a roll over crash at Highway 41 and McWilliams Rd. The vehicle rolled on the roadway then down the embankment and the vehicle had significant damage. The driver or any other occupants were not in the vehicle and the area was searched for anyone who may have been ejected. No one was located as of this writing. ISP responded and handled the crash investigation. 20-47149

• A Deputy responded to Strahorn Rd. and Hayden Ave. for a report of a deer stuck in a fence. Unfortunately the deer could not be freed and had significant injuries. It was dispatched. 20-47151

• A female called into the crisis center and advised she had taken pills and drank whiskey and was on her way to Higgins Point to "go for a swim". Deputies checked the area and were unable to locate her or her vehicle. The area was searched and information obtained later in the shift put her in CDA. CDA PD took over the investigation. 20-47152

10-31-2020

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:

• A Deputy responded to 43 W. Prairie Ave. (Rite Aid) for a verbal disturbance involving a male who either walked into a truck as it was backing from a spot or that hit him. In the end, it was chalked up to a mis-understanding and no one was injured. 20-47193

• ISP and Rathdrum PD were involved in a pursuit with a female that went from Rathdrum to almost Spirit Lake on Highway 41. Spikes were used and the female was arrested. KCSO was not involved.

• Deputies responded to E. Menser Ave. in Athol as it was reported a wanted person had just arrived on scene. Deputies were UTL him at this time. 20-47187

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Several Deputies responded to Prairie Ave. X Idaho Rd. for an Injury Crash with a sheared pole. Units were on scene for an extraordinarily long time due to Avista trying to get a crew together. One patient transported to KH. 20-47219

• Deputies responded to the area of Hwy 53 X Old 95 near the new overpass for an Injury Crash. A male failed to negotiate a turn in the area which resulted in the vehicle leaving the roadway. 20-47232

• A Deputy took an Extra Patrol call near the Prairie Ave. Community Church due to an extremely large party next door. On scene the Deputy spoke to the party host and hostess. They advised it was put on a private Facebook announcement, but all of sudden there was way more people there. (Estimated at about 300 people at 2015 hours). The host advised he was trying to keep a lid on it and that they'd be "toning it down by 10PM". 20-47243

• Deputies along with ISP responded to the area of N. Hauser Lake Rd. for an Unknown Injury Rollover Crash. On scene they learned a male subject was intoxicated, and instead of driving, he allowed his 13 year old daughter drive his jeep. She rolled the jeep and neither party was injured. 20-47247

• A Deputy was off duty (transporting his patrol car home from the shop) when he witnessed a vehicle driving erratically and failing to maintain lane. The driver eventually pulled over on her own. Another Deputy responded and after speaking with the driver, he initiated a DUI investigation. The driver was charged with DUI. 20-47238

• Deputies responded to an address on Pepper Rd. in Athol reference a possible battery. On scene the R/P was contacted who stated a male pushed her onto her bed. She declined pressing charges. CV battery report completed. 20-47220

Night Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies received numerous calls from the area W. Prairie Ave. ranging from a fight to noise complaints. When Deputies began to arrive in the area, hundreds of cars were leaving from the property and the church next door. No fight was located. 20-47254

• A Sergeant stopped a vehicle leaving the above party house for not having any lights activated. The driver was contacted who exhibited the symptoms of intoxication. A Deputy arrived to conduct the DUI investigation and the driver failed evaluations and provided a breath sample of .179/.177. He was charged for DUI. 20-47256

• A Deputy stopped a vehicle that pulled into an address off Broadmore Dr. The driver exhibited the symptoms of intoxication. He failed SFST's and provided breath samples of .088/.085. He was arrested for DUI. The passenger was not wearing a seatbelt and refused to identify himself. He was ordered out of the vehicle and when Deputies went to place him in handcuffs, he tensed up and tried to pull away. Once his identity was discovered, it was learned he had several warrants out of Kootenai County. He was arrested on his warrants and for resisting/obstructing. During the inventory of the vehicle, a marijuana pipe was located under the driver’s seat. The driver admitted the pipe was his. He was also charged with possession of paraphernalia. 20-47264/20-47272

• Deputies responded to Curley's for a report of a verbal domestic with a female acting out and damaging a vehicle. Upon arrival, contact was made with a male and female. It was learned that while in the bar, another unknown female was "grinding" on the male which upset female. They got into a verbal argument which escalated to female kicking the windshield of male's truck from in the inside and causing it to spider web. He did not wish to pursue charges. 20-47274

• Deputies responded to the BNSF yard for a trespassing complaint. According to BNSF staff, they located a male on an engine and escorted him off the property. A short while later, he was observed on the property again, climbing on a rail car. The area was searched extensively, but the male could not be located. 20-47276

Notable calls for the day!

11-01-2020

• A Deputy to Hidden Valley X Nelson Lp. regarding a suspicious vehicle possible single vehicle crash. Upon her arrival she contacted the owner who had just pulled the vehicle out of the ditch. The driver advised they had slide off the road earlier that morning. It was a non-reportable slide off.

• Deputies responded to Reed X Mustang regarding a family dispute upon their arrival they contacted a male and female. They were having issues with their 16 y/o daughter who had got out of the vehicle and started yelling at female. Deputies completed an incident report.20-47304

• A Deputy located possible DUI at Greensferry X Driftwood drive. The driver was charged with DUI 20-47319

• A Deputy completed directed patrols in the area of Beck and Corn maze road a construction area. She located a suspicious vehicle with damage to it. The RO was contacted and advised it was old damage and was able to pick it up shortly. 20-47309

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:

• A Deputy conducted a traffic stop at the El Patio in Stateline. The occupants were identified and one of the occupants had a warrant for his arrest (out of Kootenai County) and was taken into custody without incident. 20-47351

• A Deputy conducted a traffic stop in the area of Lancaster and Hwy 95. Upon contact with the driver, the Deputy could smell the odor or marijuana from within the vehicle. The vehicle was searched a pipe/other paraphernalia was located. 20-47350

• A Deputy responded to a battery that took place at W. Prairie Ave on 10/31/2020. The Deputy contacted the juvenile victims and their father and took their statements. Ultimately it was learned that the juvenile females were at a party and had got into a physical altercation with two other sisters. The suspects were identified, and it was determined that they were the predominant aggressors and when the juveniles began walking away, they were both struck by two females. They were charged for battery. 20-47257

• Deputies responded to the area of Camrose Ln and Minich Rd in regards to a disturbance. According to dispatch, BNSF reported someone was in the area possibly disconnecting train cars. No other information was provided and on deputy’s arrival, no one was seen and the train was moving. 20-47353

• Deputies responded to Coeur d’Alene Dr in Spirit Lake for the report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival it was learned that the parties were separated and the male suspect was barricaded in the shop on the property. Numerous attempts were made in contacting the male however he refused to exit the building. Because a felony was articulated and because the male was barricaded on the property SWAT was called and after their arrival, more attempts were made to contact the male. The male finally exited the shop and was taken into custody and charged. 20-47365

Night Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to N. Fir Lan for a suspicious. The R/P stated an unknown male had broken out her front window of her residence and was screaming. The male was screaming for his dog and yelling at neighbors. Deputies located and identified the male. He was highly intoxicated and upset over his 11 year old dog running away. The neighbors did not want to press charges and he was ultimately released with a warning not to leave his residence. A very short time later, the intoxicated male quickly returned to the streets screaming profanities at deputies and yelling for his dog. It was obvious that the male was clearly highly intoxicated in the street and contacted by deputies. This time, the male had a Ruger 9MM concealed on his person and was ultimately arrested for intoxicated in roadway, possession of concealed weapon while intoxicated and obstruction 20-47363

• Deputies responded to E. Loch Haven Dr for a suspicious. A white male 6’0 180 lbs was observed camping in the park for past several days. Deputies contacted a female who said she was not camping or breaking any laws. The female was ultimately warned about camping and notified of her suspension. 20-47372
