SHERMAN: A fine proposal

| May 31, 2020 1:00 AM

I was very encouraged to read that the city of Coeur d’Alene is considering giving local businesses the option to use city sidewalks and streets for their operations during this time of COVID-19.

This is a great idea; one that has been implemented with success in many cities that are now reopening. Giving more public space to businesses will help those businesses thrive in this COVID era, and allow people to visit downtown knowing we can safely walk, dine and shop while maintaining safe distances from others.

Kudos to our mayor and the City Council for advancing this important idea.
