Great article by Syd Albright on Sunday regarding “Seward’s Folly” and the acquisition of our beautiful state of Alaska — except for the artwork.
The caption underneath the picture implied to readers that the scene was a typical Alaskan mountain landscape, when in reality, it is one of the most photographed lakes in America — St. Mary Lake in Glacier National Park. Any visitor to Glacier is familiar with the renowned St. Mary Lake; Fusillade, Gunsight, and Dusty Star Peaks; and of course, Wild Goose Island. Rather a glaring faux pas, wouldn’t you say?
Your paper is wonderful, but thanks for paying more attention to detail in the future.
