ABORTION: Choosing safety

| May 29, 2020 1:00 AM

Consequences: Pro-choice does not mean pro-abortion. No person is pro-abortion. Pro-choice means anti-forced birth.

Like Dr. Cutting, I do not want to go back to the days of back-alley/home remedy abortions that caused young girls to die needlessly. The solution isn’t breaking Roe v. Wade, but providing more education and free or low cost birth control to minimize putting someone in a position of making a horrible, life-altering decision.

I can’t condone abortion, but I also can’t tell another woman that she is required to have a child. I can’t vote to put her life at risk for an unclean abortion.

A female who makes the decision to abort a pregnancy may have reasons I can’t fathom; she will have to live with the consequences all the days of her life. I’m not pro-abortion, I’m anti-forced birth. It is not I who can judge her, but I can vote to protect her right to choose and for that choice to be safe.
