COVID: Fallout en route

| May 22, 2020 1:00 AM

Sunday’s business section decried the bankruptcy filing of the 118-year-old retailer, J.C. Penney, among others, as another victim of the coronavirus pandemic. As opposed to the “science” that led to the asinine and lawless decision making by our uninformed and panicked governor and other “educated” and scholastically superior decision makers, the science of what we’re witnessing as a result of their ineptitude and the death that is sure to come will dwarf the overinflated (for monetary reward and political standing) death toll of this virus.

The depression, mental anguish, stress and worry will reconcile themselves in sickness and death but of course, we’ll be told they had COVID right? Sure. And the lapdog media has all but created the printing plates for the stories lined up about a resurgence of the virus in the fall.

Casual observation does show that we still shopped in grocery stores and bought liquor in liquor stores and filled our tanks and purchased goodies at mini-marts. I don’t recall the science showing people were automatically immune in such establishments.

Here is some science and no, you don’t need to be an epidemiologist to understand it. Two things will kill the virus; vaccine or herd immunity, not sheltering in place. Secondly, when the virus does resurface, because it hasn’t been killed, the empirical science now dictates that those with underlying health conditions and the elderly should be quarantined and locked down for their protection and not everyone else who may get sick but will recover just fine.

In the meantime, the fallout from the overreaction hasn’t even begun to settle.
