Emphasis patrols planned for Memorial Day weekend

The Coeur d’Alene Police Department, Idaho State Police and Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office will conduct DUI emphasis patrols Memorial Day weekend in order to keep impaired drivers off the roads.

Drinking and driving is never acceptable. Even if an individual has had only one alcoholic beverage, they should designated a sober driver, plan to use public transportation or use a ride sharing service to get home safely.

Police ask anyone who sees an impaired driver on the road to call police and give a detailed description of the vehicle, as well as the driver, if possible.
