Free potatoes on Saturday

Free potatoes will be offered 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Heart of the City Church.

The taters are from a Washington farmer who has to get rid of them. The market for potatoes collapsed due to the coronavirus. Many potato farmers in Idaho dumped and give away thousands of pounds of spuds.

It’s expected more than 6,000 pounds of potatoes will be given away. People can have as much as they like.

Donations will be accepted.

Heart of the City is at 772 W. Kathleen Ave., Coeur d'Alene.
