POEM: For Garden Plaza residents

You don’t have to pull your britches down
Or open your mouth up wide,
Just put your favorite facemask on
And come step outside.
We came to take your temperature
With this gizzy on your head,
And once we get your number
You can go back to bed!
But now that we’ve disturbed you
To come answer our knock
We hope you’ll take advantage
And choose to take a walk!
Is there anything we can get for you
As you shelter in place
That would make you more comfortable
As we wait to hear we’re safe?
Thank you, Dear Residents,
For your patience and your faith
In our efforts and our love for you
As we show each other grace.
