DISLIKE: No part of law

Folks (and especially candidates for office) in North Idaho in general and Kootenai County in particular would do well to understand that laws and executive actions are not unconstitutional just because they dislike or disagree with them.

Unconstitutionality is determined through a judicial review (one of the checks and balances in the separation of powers). Also, the oath of office for sheriff in Idaho says, “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) I will support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Idaho…” It does not say, “…I will enforce my interpretation of the Constitution of the United States and my interpretation of the Constitution of the State of Idaho…”.
