As I look at the COVID-19 pandemic and the meltdown of our world, I realize how quickly our lives can turn on a dime — through no fault of our own. But we are part of the world and we still have to deal with it all. It is surely not a time to panic or be overcome with fear or be obsessed with what might happen or not happen. It’s probably not a good time to sell our stock but a great time to buy.

Perhaps it’s an opportune time to evaluate just what our priorities have been in our life and the wise, or unwise, decisions that we have made in our past. A crisis such as this will bring many of these to light in vivid color. What a great time to change our wrong, maybe even foolish habits — like paying ANY interest on a credit card, buying ANYTHING that we cannot afford, or NOT HAVING a 6-month reserve fund for emergencies, (COVID-19) for starters.

What about our poor health? A walk with our spouse, friends is super healthy, socially interactive and totally affordable! Also, an elliptical or treadmill in our home, used regularly, works wonders.

Our poor diet? Sweet potatoes with butter will beat the heck out of Big Macs and fries.

I’m so appreciative of how the private and government sectors are working together to battle this deadly virus. Why not let kindness and thankfulness be the virus that spreads throughout America and the world — without a cure!
