Coeur d’Alene extends school closures

| March 24, 2020 1:00 AM

The current closure of Coeur d'Alene school buildings will continue at least until April 20, following the direction Monday of the Idaho State Board of Education.

It’s possible the closure may need to be extended beyond that date.

While students will not be attending school in buildings over the next four weeks, Coeur d’Alene public schools will continue to provide essential services, including food service for underserved populations and child care for community members providing health care and critical services.

The district also will facilitate student learning while buildings remain closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is already providing at-home learning strategies for students.

The district is also developing a plan to deliver special education services.
