Notable calls of the day!

03-06-2020

• Deputies assisted Detectives in executing a search warrant. Detectives made on arrest.

• Multiple KCSO units responded to the intersection of Cornerstone and Prairie for a two vehicle crash with one vehicle on its top. A female patient had to be extricated from the vehicle by NLFD Fire/EMS personnel. While waiting for first responders, a nurse stopped to assist, and multiple nurses, and the Doctor came out of Kootenai Urgent Care and assisted the patient until help arrived a short time later. She was transported to Kootenai Health with minor/moderate injuries. 20-09024

• From the result of a traffic stop Deputies arrested the male driver for PCS - Marijuana and para near the intersection of Lancaster X Ramsey. #20-09007

• Backcountry Deputies responded to the FSR 2342 X FSR 1562 area for a stuck ATV’er. A male operator was by himself got stuck in the snow, (without a winch) and called for help. Deputies were able to remedy the situation. 20-09018

• A Patrol Sergeant observed a vehicle swerving all over the road and when he stopped it, the driver, started to lunge back towards the rear seats of the vehicle. She claimed to have done so because she was trying to get into the back seat of the vehicle because she was afraid of police officers. A K9 sniff was negative, as was a DUI evaluation, and driver was cited for operating a vehicle on a learners permit without a valid driver over 21 and texting while driving. 20-09070

• Deputies stopped and arrested a male driver for DUI (Refusal), 2nd offense. 20-09085

• Deputies took a hit and run report from the El Patio. A reportedly intoxicated female left the bar, striking another vehicle on her way out and failing to remain on scene. The female was driving a 2005 Toyota passenger vehicle with California plates 8FUJ908. 20-09118

• Deputies stopped a vehicle at Seltice and Baugh. Contact was made with the driver who exhibited the symptoms of intoxication. He failed SFST’s and provided breath samples of .198/.191. He was arrested for DUI. Marijuana and paraphernalia were also located and he was booked on those charges as well. 20-09122

• While investigating the DUI, a fight between two females was observed at Nashville North. Both parties were contacted and they declined to pursue charges against each other. 20-09124

• Deputies stopped a vehicle on Appleway and Ramsey. He contacted the driver who exhibited the symptoms of intoxication. The driver failed SFST’s and provided breath samples of .111/.099. He was arrested for DUI. 20-09137

• Deputies responded to W. Prairie for a reported Family Dispute. On scene they contacted both parties and learned the mother was upset because the adult daughter was going to move out. Both parties were calmed down by the time Deputies arrived on scene. 20-09158

• Deputies responded to N. Cliff House Rd. for a reported Verbal Domestic. It was reported the male half had smashed his ex’s vehicle window and then fled on foot towards the lake. On scene, Deputies spoke with V/RP who advised she wished to pursue charges against him for Mal. Inj. and Theft due to her advising she was missing approx. 30 DVD’s believing the male took them while he was at her residence. 20-09179

• A Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on I90 at milepost 4 and arrested the driver on a DWP warrant out of Kootenai County. 20-09233

• Deputies responded to a report of a welfare check on a teenager. A female juvenile made unsettling statements to her grandparents. The grandparents were concerned she might hurt herself in the middle of the night, so Deputies escorted them to KH. 20-09239

• Deputies responded to the Casino for a report of a fight where a male was threatening people with a knife a male suspect threatened a man with a knife after his friend bumped into the victim’s wife and the victim stepped in. The suspect was confronted by security and they asked him to hand over the knife, which he did. The suspect then ran off and was tackled by Casino security. He pulled out another knife and attempted to stab a security guard, but was pinned to the ground. Deputies arrested the male suspect for two counts of Aggravated Assault and Mara/Para (found in his pocket on arrest). 20-09244

• Deputies responded to a verbal domestic dispute where the female half left prior to their arrival. Per the male half, the female left in a vehicle, intoxicated after banging on the door trying to get inside. A telephone harassment report was completed as the female called the male over 48 times during the incident. 20-09242

• Deputies responded to N Smith Ave for a report of a physical domestic. A female advised her husband had hit her several times and broke a window out of their vehicle. The female was able to get to safety and was checked out by medical. The male called into dispatch and said female beat him up, however, he admitted to breaking the car window and puncturing the tire on the vehicle so she could not leave. The male said he was not going to go to jail and refused to have any contact with law enforcement. A complaint request for domestic battery charges is being completed on male. 20-09252

03-08-2020

• Deputies responded to the area of Seltice and Huetter after someone called in to report that a backpack was thrown from a moving vehicle. The vehicle then continued on without indicating it planned on returning for the backpack. The deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the backpack. Dora the Explorer must have recovered it. 20-09276

• Deputies responded to a welfare check. It was reported that a female had made suicidal comments after it was suggested she attend a rehab program. The female was not located at her residence and the statements were done via text message. An ATL was aired and PFPD located her in the Stateline Walmart parking lot. She was provided resources by PFPD. 20-09289

• Deputies responded to Highway 95 for a hit on a blue GMC truck. The information on the hit advised the male RO of vehicle had an extraditable felony warrant out of Washington. Upon stopping the vehicle it was learned the RO was not in the vehicle. However, they learned the female passenger, had felony warrants out of Washington. Deputies also located paraphernalia and Heroin inside the vehicle. The driver was arrested for possession of paraphernalia and female passenger was arrested for her warrant, possession of paraphernalia, and possession of Heroin. 20-09329

• Deputies responded to a residential burglary were the R/P reported that she believed her grandson had entered her residence and stole approximately $1,782 in cash from her kitchen drawer. Deputies spent several hours speaking with the victim and suspect and eventually the suspect admitted to stealing the money. 20-09312

• Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 58 and contacted the driver, and passenger. During the investigation the Deputy learned that male was non-compliant registered sex offender from King County, Washington. 20-09338

• Deputies assisted Probation and Parole on a compliance check.

• Deputies responded to Hauser Lake for a report of a Domestic Dispute. The male half, who was less than cooperative, citing that his wife, had “Gone Crazy” and threw his stuff out a window. After investigation and interviews, it was determined that R/P had battered his wife in the presence of their child. He was arrested and charged with DV and Strangulation. 20-09335

• Deputies responded to Vlazy’s Ln. in Athol for a suspicious vehicle call. Upon contact, it was determined that no crime was committed. After an argument, the male half left the residence and would rather sleep in his vehicle.

• Deputies responded to a call of a suspicious female at the intersection on 95 X Hayden Ave. The female had a residence and would rather walk around then return home. The female would not provide the male’s name, but no crime was committed and she was less than cooperative.

• Deputies responded to HWY 53 MP1 for a non-injury vehicle vs. elk crash. ISP arrived during the investigation and took the crash.
