Generation: “I would consider myself an Xennial, which is a mix of millennial and Gen X. In my career, I live and breathe the digital era - social media, email, online marketing, etc. However, in my personal life I am very much a Gen X. I prefer face-to-face interactions over social media chats and try to disconnect as much as possible.”
Career and community involvement: “I started my career in sports marketing with the Idaho Vandals and Spokane Indians Baseball team. Prior to working at the Resort, I worked for a local advertising agency where I became experienced in all aspects of marketing. The combination of hospitality and marketing drove me to start my career with The Coeur d’Alene Resort.”
Parental status: Mom of two amazing boys.
1. What are some of your responsibilities as director of marketing for The Coeur d’Alene Resort?
“As the marketing director, I wear many hats on a daily basis. Some days I may be creating a menu for one of our amazing restaurants or I may be strategizing a marketing plan to attract direct flight markets to vacation at The Resort. Every day is different for me, which I love. I also get to collaborate with many of the organizations within the Hagadone Hospitality umbrella including golf, spa, The Resort and all of the restaurants.”
2. What drew you to this field and position?
“The Coeur d’Alene
Resort is a one-of-a-kind destination. Getting to be a part of bringing that experience to others is an honor. To me my role is the dream job; who wouldn’t want to work on a beautiful lake, eat amazing food and work with a world-class group of people?”
3. What are a few things that motivate you every day?
“Every day I feel fulfilled knowing that I have helped create lasting memories for our guests, and seeing the smiles on their faces is uplifting. I am also motivated by my spirited children.”
4. What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?
“I am addicted to audiobooks! It started with my long drives home from college. My drive was seven hours from Moscow to Westport, Washington. This was conveniently just enough time to finish an entire audiobook. I listen to a variety of genres including motivational books like Mel Robbins’ ‘5 Second Rule,’ fictional titles for my book club and occasionally a good podcast like ‘Crime Junkie.’”
5. If you could travel through time, where would you go and what would you do?
“I love concerts, particularly classic rock. I would have loved to attend concerts from some of the greats like Queen, The Eagles or Journey.”
