Notable calls for the day!

02-28-2020

• Deputies responded to two different crashes on Prairie Ave west of Hwy 95. Both were non injury but reportable. One was at 1130 and the other was at 1415 hrs. 20-07051/ 20-7977

• Deputies responded to a cold Burglary. Upon his arrival he learned a tool shed was broken into and tools were taken. It is unknown if it was accessed by land or water. 20-07962

• Deputies responded to a family dispute/ Juvenile problem. The juvenile refused to go to school because he had detention. Deputies were able to explain to the child what his choices where and talked with both grandparents on some different options. The child decided to go with his grandfather to school. About an hour later we responded back to the residence because once the grandson was dropped off at school, he ran off not going inside, Rathdrum PD located him in the city park. Deputies completed a runaway report charging the grandson. 20-07929

• Deputies responded for a hit and run crash where a dark colored sedan jumped the median on Government Way south of Hayden Avenue and knocked down a light pole. They searched the area for the vehicle but were UTL. The vehicle was believed to have fled westbound on Government Way, so Triple Play video will be reviewed by the traffic team in an attempt to identify the vehicle. 20-08017

• A Patrol Sergeant responded to the area of the airport after a male reported that a drone had been following him from Appleway all the way to the airport and was now hovering nearby. The male pointed out the white light to the Sergeant, which he deemed to be either a bright star or the planet Venus due to the light was fading and disappearing behind clouds and was clearly far away. The Sgt also explained that it was unlikely a drone could have the battery life to follow him for this long. The male asked if he could drive in a loop and show that the light would follow him… it did not, but a plane flew overhead and landed and when the male returned he claimed that plane was the drone that had been following him. The male said he has been followed by drones for a few weeks now and they are interfering with his car as well. 20-08036

• Several Deputies responded to a physical domestic dispute where the male half was reported to be intoxicated and had a firearm in his pickup parked on scene. As Deputies arrived, the male was reportedly leaving in his vehicle. He was spotted driving off and Deputies conducted a high risk stop on the vehicle, detaining the driver. The investigation lead to the driver/suspect being charged for domestic assault and domestic battery, and for DUI and Possession of a Concealed Firearm while Intoxicated. 20-08063

• Deputies responded to an overdose. While Deputies were en-route, Dispatch relayed that CPR was in progress. Once Deputies arrived, they began life saving efforts and ultimately administered three doses of nasal Narcan on the victim. After a few minutes, the victim began coming around and breathing again. After about 15 minutes, the victim walked out of the residence under his own power to the ambulance. Good job by the Deputies in helping save this man’s life! 20-08073

• Deputies responded to assist medical with a psychological. They responded for a male who suffers from dementia, had become upset for an unknown reason and began banging his hands and arms on the walls. The male suffered a laceration to his arm during his violent outburst. The male was able to be transported to Kootenai Health via ambulance. 20-08075

• Deputies took a theft report where unknown males were chased off from stealing metal from the business and were seen leaving in a smaller red pickup. The investigation landed a couple investigative leads. 20-08123.

02-29-2020

• Deputies responded to Coeur D’Alene Casino for a drugs call. Upon their arrival they contacted security who advised a baggie of meth that fell out of the pocket of a male. After reviewing the surveillance cameras they were able to locate the male inside the casino. After interviewing the male, he was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. 20-08131

• Deputies responded to N Government Way for a Trespassing/Unwanted. Once on scene they contacted a male who had an outstanding warrant. 20-08151

• Deputies and Spirit Lake PD officers attempted to locate a juvenile runaway out of Portland, Oregon. Per the RP there was a 4th party relay of a Snapchat received which made them believe the juvenile was in the Spirit Lake area. After further investigation it was learned the Snapchat was false and the Juvenile was never back in Kootenai County. 20-08155

• A Deputy initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Diagonal and Ramsey and arrested the male driver for a felony warrant for sex offenses against a child out of Kootenai County. He had an additional warrant out of Colorado for failure to comply, but Colorado would not extradite. 20-08912

• Deputies responded to Hayden for a physical domestic between a female and her husband. Both parties were intoxicated after a night of drinking and were disputing over infidelity. The male half was arrested for domestic battery. 20-08244.

• Deputies responded to the casino for a drugs call. Someone turned in a glasses case into security. Inside the case was a container of methamphetamine. Security reviewed surveillance footage and was able to capture the male who had dropped the case. He was contacted by security and during the interview would not admit the case belonged to him. He was arrested for PCS meth. 20-08247

Notable Calls for the day!

03-01-2020

• Deputies responded to Twin Lakes Rd for a family disturbance. A male adult had gotten into a verbal disagreement with father and step-mother. The son was allowed to leave the residence to cool down. FI 20-08282

• A Deputy came upon a non-injury crash on Hwy 41 at Scarcello Rd. Deputies assisted with traffic until ISP could arrive.

• A male called in stating the problem from “last night” was still happening and he felt threatened by Law Enforcement and wanted something done. In doing research, the male was contacted last night by CDAPD on a welfare check. It was referred to CDAPD.

• Deputies responded to Timothy Ln for a welfare check. A neighbor had spoken to the resident the previous evening. The resident was having difficulty breathing and his chest hurt. This morning, the resident could not be contacted and the house was not secure. It was learned the resident hat gone to KH and was admitted.

• Deputies responded to E. East Point Rd. for a trespassing/unwanted call. A female who appeared to be intoxicated called in to report a boyfriend of her roommate would not leave. Prior to KCSO arrival, a second female took her 9 year old son and left on foot heading toward her parents’ house on Harlow Point Rd. Due to the situation, it was determined to call additional resources to assist in locating the mother and her child. Spokane County Air 1, KCSO Drone Team, SAR and Rec. Safety personnel were called in to assist. As more resources were coming into the area, a Deputy was able to locate the pair and bring them back to the residence safely. Throughout the investigation, the residents were less then cooperative which made things difficult and resulted in this being a lengthy call that started with three units going for the initial call and two units spending a majority of the shift handling the incident. It should be noted that the female that was missing with her son, was arrested on an agents warrant after her Probation Officer was informed she had been drinking. 20-08288.

• A Deputy located a slid off on Highway 97 x Beauty Bay and the driver was arrested for DUI. 20-08320

• Deputies responded to PSB for an arrestee brought in by P&P that had marijuana in his boot. He cited and released the offender for mara/para. 20-08328
