A Washington man was arrested by the Idaho State Police Tuesday evening for possession of a controlled substance, stolen property, and a counterfeit bill, felonies that carry up to 14 years in prison.

Travis W. Gabbert, 39, was driving a Chevrolet Silverado when he was stopped by ISP Patrolman Brady Walker near Appleway Avenue and U.S. 95 for an expired license. Walker found that Gabbert’s driver’s license was previously suspended, and the vehicle was reported stolen from a resident in Kennewick, Wash., according to court records.

AN ISP canine unit arrived, checked the vehicle and reported a positive alert for drugs, police said.

Police said they found controlled substances, including a small baggie of methamphetamine and a hypodermic syringe. Six counterfeit $20 bills and one counterfeit $10 bill were also found.

Bail for Gabbert was set at $30,000.
