In response to June 19 opinion comments: SHERIFF: Earning his way.

No way is Mike Bauer a slacker!

Mr. Logan — first, Welcome to Idaho. Second, Idaho, along with other states, has a closed primary. As an Independent, future Sheriff Bauer ran unopposed.

When invited, he attended all forums, interviews and meetings, etc., which would show he was definitely participating in the election process. He did not just “arrive through the back door,” as you stated.

Suggest you become more informed, and also visit Mike Bauer’s website. Then, choose your candidate. Remember, an open mind is a beautiful thing.
