Helicopter crashes near Rathdrum

RATHDRUM — Two people were hurt in a helicopter crash near Highway 41 and Wyoming Avenue.
The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies were on the scene about 6 p.m. Tuesday. The helicopter was in flames after crashing in a field.
“The occupants of the helicopter were transported to Kootenai Health to be treated for injuries as a result of the accident,” KCSO posted on its Facebook page.
Traffic was blocked but is now open.
More information will be released as the investigation continues.
