Albert ‘Abe’ L. Lenker, 91

Albert L. Lenker passed away June 16, 2020. No service is planned at this time. A memorial will be held at a later date.

Abe was born Oct. 2, 1928, in Gooding, Idaho, to Earl Lenker and Beulah Johnson Lenker; the third of five siblings. He attended elementary school in Tuttle, Idaho, and graduated from Hagerman High School in 1947. He spent one year at the University of Idaho, Moscow, before he was drafted into the Army, in October 1950, and was stationed in Korea. While there he attained the rank of staff sergeant. He was discharged in September 1952 and returned to Gooding to farm.

In 1954, he moved to Seattle and worked as a carpenter. He met his first wife, Marjorie Constable, in 1954. They were married in 1955 and had three children: Andrew Lenker of Coeur d’Alene, Amy Bower of Craig, Colo., and Cindy Skelton of Woodinville, Wash. His first wife passed away in 1978.

He married Phyllis Mathes Newman in June 1980.

He leaves behind his wife, Phyllis; his three children; step-daughter, Patricia Langheid of Coeur d’Alene; step-son, Vernon Newman of Caldwell, Idaho; and brothers, Robert Lenker of Salem Oreg., Burton Lenker of Coeur d’Alene and Gaylord Lenker of Seattle.
