ASSUMPTIONS: They’re dangerous
In reading the letters of late, I note quite a few are commending the citizenry who were protecting our fair city from possible vandalism, but there were two who drew my attention.
These two very clearly were not appreciative of these folks telling everyone they were not trained. Really? Just how did these two come by that information? Did they ask anyone?
Chances are most of them were native Idahoans, retired military or reservists, or had hunted their entire lives. Some might have been retired police officers themselves.
Just throwing out a blanket shot at these folks was disrespecting all of them. Whoever these writers are, it doesn’t sound as though they are native to the area. Most all natives of North Idaho do not fear an armed citizen, nor do they presume they are not trained. Better check your facts before getting the tar and feathers out.
