PATRIOTS: Let police protect us

| June 12, 2020 1:00 AM

To the Armed citizens who heard a rumor and acted on impulse not fact, decided they would turn our town into a vigilantes infested community,

You found your information on social media where informed people know that the spread of misinformation and incendiary is spread. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, has hired dozens of scientists to stop this deceit on Facebook.

All of this because of a rumor? When the CDC and our medical community tell us to wear a mask and stay 6 feet apart so you won’t become sick with COVID-19 and this you ignore, what are you thinking? You should have been wearing a mask and keeping distance, that would have been Patriot. COVID-19 is still here. When your standing in line at the grocers, do you believe what you read in The National Enquirer? I hope not, subscribe to the Coeur d’Alene Press or Spokesman. Newspapers have always been the backbone of Democracy.

When you watch the news on TV, have you ever checked their FCC license for news? Or is it a license for satire because they lost their license for news, because of misinformation?

To be a good citizen, we must all be trustworthy and go by facts.

When I was a kid, the good guys wore white hats and the bad guys wore black hats in the cowboy movies.

No one knew who you were, no police uniform or National Guard, you could be mass shooters. If you want to protect our community, join the police department or National Guard. You embarrassed our town nationally. You looked like thugs with weapons that need-not be on the streets, and if you need these kinds of guns for hunting, you’re a lousy shot.

Word of advice, just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.

Leave our qualified police department to protect our fair town.
