COEUR d’ALENE — The number of coronavirus cases in Kootenai County has reached 94, up from 80 cases a week ago.

The Panhandle Health District reported it has confirmed 120 cases in the five northern counties, with five new cases on Thursday. Of those, 94 are no longer being monitored and there have been a total of 14 hospitalizations.

There are 10 cases in Benewah County, seven in Bonner, and still none in Boundary or Shoshone counties. There are nine cases labeled “undetermined.”

Fifty-six cases have been with people between the ages of 19 to 49. Fourteen are ages 18 and under, and 48 are age 50 and over.

Sixty-five are males and 55 are females, according to PHD.

Health officials have previously said they expected an increase in cases with the reopening of restaurants, gyms and salons on May 15, and bars on May 30. The last stage of Gov. Brad Little’s Idaho Rebounds, stage four, begins Saturday.

According to PHD, people with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported — from mild to severe.
