PROTEST: No social distancing

| June 10, 2020 1:00 AM

Apparently, if you carry a sign that says Black Lives Matter and assemble with an unlimited number of other persons, you do not have to obey the governor’s orders limiting assembling in specified numbers or with any space between persons.

The city of Coeur d’Alene agreed to have an unknown number of people march in the center of Coeur d’Alene carrying signs that said Black Lives Matter and who were objecting to what happened in Minnesota to a Black man killed by police. There was no social distancing required, no limit in numbers of those involved in the assembly.

I did not learn of any objections from the governor’s office regarding limits of those who were objecting to what happened in Minnesota. Failure to object is tantamount to consent when you know what is to happen.

With no limits for unknown numbers of persons to walk down our streets, are all persons allowed to do the same inside a building such as a church, bar or other establishment so long as the sign Black Lives Matter are present and there is a posting or statement that the proprietors object to police brutality-especially in Minnesota? Is not the freedom to assemble anywhere peacefully universal in America? Does the freedom to assemble peacefully only apply to people who have a cause?

Once Pandora’s box is open, should the opening not allow everyone out of that box? At least so long as everyone who wants out of the box says the “right” thing, should not all be let out? So much for state control of our lives?
