BOISE — The Idaho House of Representatives announced the formation of a Joint Property Tax Interim Committee to continue work on alleviating the ongoing burden of property tax on Idahoans.

Multiple solutions were produced by House Republicans during the past legislative session to address citizen concerns about uncontrolled property tax increases.

Unfortunately, none of the proposals were ultimately signed into law. With the formation of this interim committee, the House Republicans hope to find long-term solutions rather than continue short-term fixes.

The Interim committee will be co-chaired by Rep. Jim Addis, Coeur d’Alene with additional Republican Caucus members to include Majority Leader Mike Moyle, Star; Asst. Majority Leader Jason Monks, Nampa; Rep. Rod Furniss, Rigby; and Rep. John Vander Woude of Nampa will serve as an ad-hoc member.
