Kameron Vordahl, Timberlake High valedictorian

| June 6, 2020 1:00 AM

I am a senior at Timberlake High School. I am dual-enrolled at North Idaho College. I am grateful to have been chosen as the valedictorian for class of 2020.

Activities/clubs/sports: I am a varsity track runner and my main events are: 200m, 4x200 relay and 4x100 relay.

Hobbies: My hobbies include wakeboarding, camping, dirt biking, ziplining, hunting, exploring the Oregon Coast and any outdoor activities.

Senior quote: In life I refer to a quote from Randall Harris, a professional wakeboarder: “I can’t do this; It’s not that you can’t, it’s just you haven't yet.”

What has been the biggest challenge you overcame to become top of your class? My biggest challenge in academics has been the time it takes to complete the assignments, since I am critical of myself when it comes to doing things perfect. I am proud of myself for being a 4.2 GPA student and thank the teachers who helped me through it.

What are your plans for after high school? My plans after graduation will be to continue my academic career. I am planning on attending Lewis-Clark State College after I obtain my associate degree at North Idaho College. I then plan on working my way up to medical school to become a radiologist physician.

What advice do you have for younger students that will help them excel in their studies? Advice that I would give for anyone just starting high school or already in high school would be to be as friendly as possible, avoiding drama all together. Enjoy high school while it lasts and take advantage of learning and getting into the habit of studying on a regular basis. It not only helps with college, but any project you begin later in life.

What is your legacy to your school? A legacy I believe I have left in my high school would be the positive attitude I try to bring every day. The goal I set every day for myself is to make someone's day better by either smiling at them or making them laugh and feel included.
