Notable calls for the day!

07-26-2020

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Traffic Deputies worked on multiple traffic complaints on Kidd Island Rd./Hull Lp. Several citations were issued for speeding and throwing light objects out of a vehicle (cigarettes).

• Deputies responded to W. Blueberry Circle for what was originally a Fire Assist which unfortunately turned into an Unattended Death. 20-30292

• Deputies responded to N. Trafalgar in reference to a Warrant Service. On scene Deputies took a female into custody without incident. 20-30295

• A/C Officer and Deputies responded to the area of MM 22 along the route of the Coeur d’Alene’s bike path for a reported llama stuck in the mud. There were at least two different callers reported the animal was stuck. A Patrol Sergeant working in the office was able to contact a Llama Rescue outfit on Folsom Ridge Rd. who advised they would also be available to help. Eventually after several hours of hand digging around the animal by Deputies, A/C, and neighbors in the area, they got the animal freed. A/C officers arranged for the animal to get veterinary attention. 20-30316

• Deputies responded to E. Hudlow Rd. for a Burglary. On scene the RP advised the GPS had been stolen out of his boat. He advised he believed he knew who the suspect was. As a result, Deputies went to the last known address for suspect contact. They were not located. Report completed. 20-30334

• Deputies responded to N. Maple for a reported Family Disturbance. It was reported a 9-year-old female was out of control and in a rage. On scene Deputies contacted the parties involved and took a report. 20-30357

• Deputies responded to the area of S. Hwy 3 for a Welfare Check reference a female, walking down the road dressed for winter. It was determined the female is a dementia patient, and was later found by Deputies at a residence. 20-30365

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to Prairie and Pleasant View for a head on crash. Initial reports indicated a possible intoxicated driver but after the investigation it was determined no one was intoxicated. 20-30406

• A Deputy stopped a male driver who appeared to be impaired. After a DUI investigation, the driver was charged DUI .091/.088 - 20-30393

Night Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to W. Remington Rd for a domestic. A male grabbed his wife’s arm while trying to look at her phone as they are getting divorced and he was looking for evidence of the new boyfriend. He fled the scene but stayed close enough to watch our response and go back to the house when we left. He fled again and his wife was removed from the house and given a ride to Spirit Lake to meet a friend for the evening. The male was not found and was charged via complaint request. 20-30440

• Deputies responded to N. Colfax for a suspicious call. The RP called in and said her shop door was open. Once on scene, it was found the man door into the garage was open, the shop was open and the back gate was open. The RP had locked the house and shop so whoever got in forced entry somehow. It is unknown at this time what, if anything, was stolen. The RP has heard strange noises in the middle of the night the last few nights as well. 20-30465

Notable calls for the day!

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies went to the County Admin Building for a Commissioner’s business meeting where one of the agenda items was something to do with Panhandle Health and their authority. Although the meeting was at “current” capacity limits, there were no issues and everyone was civil.

• Deputies responded to E. Fernan Lake Rd. east of the gun range for an Unknown Injury Crash described as a “head on” between two vehicles. One driver injured but not transported via ambulance. 20-30526

• Deputies responded to a Welfare Check at N. Huckleberry. The RP advised he could hear some children screaming and an adult yelling at the children. Once on scene it was determined a 2-year-old on scene is having a difficult time getting off the bottle. 20-30540

• Deputies responded to the west Fernan Boat Launch for a Disorderly Male subject allegedly intoxicated and yelling at himself and others. On scene, units warned the male. 20-30557

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to E. Canyon Rd for a welfare check. The postmaster called in to say an elderly disabled woman has not picked up her mail in a few days and it was not like her. Deputies were able to observe a neat and well-kept house with a manicured lawn. They tried several phone numbers of possible friends but were unsuccessful to make contact with her. They cleared the call 7 with call notes. 20-30578

• Deputies responded to S Hells Gulch Rd for a family dispute. The father attempted to discipline his son for recent disobedience and drug use. Son ended up fighting with dad in return. Dad does not want son charged with battery so a CV report was completed. 20-30592

• Deputies responded to N. Govt. Way and N. Hayden Pines Way for a hit and run crash. After finding the dealer plate Deputies were able to identify the driver of the vehicle that fled. The driver was on probation and her PO was contacted. Later in the shift Deputies were able to locate her and cite her for the hit and run crash. 20-30570

Night Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Multiple units responded to Athol Super 1 to assist Bonner County with a shooting call. The victim was reportedly coming from the party spot on Old House Rd. Units located the victims who had several bullet holes in the car but the occupants only had scratches from broken glass. BCSO arrived and took over the call but asked for units to respond to the party spot to cover the units on scene. One juvenile runaway was located at the party and Deputies provided a courtesy transport to the juvenile to meet his parent in Rathdrum since BCSO was short staffed and waiting for Detectives to arrive.

• Several Deputies responded to a theft call on Spirit Lake along with SLPD. The RP said a high speed fishing boat was going from dock to dock stealing items. They responded with a boat and located the suspect on the lake and found out the suspect was bass fishing. The call was unfounded.

• A Deputy located a suspicious vehicle on Rew Rd x Stringham. During his contact, the driver admitted to a meth pipe in the car. During a search, paraphernalia was found. The driver and the passenger were arrested on various drug charges. 20-30639

• Deputies responded to a crash in the 8500 blk of Government Way. A vehicle crashed into the ditch then the driver tried to park the car behind a building. Deputies located him and charged him for DUI. 20-30640

• A Deputy located a vehicle in the ditch at the gas station at Prairie x Ramsey. He contacted a male in the vehicle who admitted he had warrants and meth. The Deputy found the meth and arrested him for the drugs and the warrant. 20-30648/30649

Notable calls for the day!

07-28-2020

Day Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to Shiloh Lp. for a Suicide Threat involving a female. The female threatened to shoot herself with a gun. Initially she could not be located, however after some pings, and rechecking areas, Deputies found her pulling into a garage at the Shiloh address. The firearm was located the Ford, and given back to the owner. She was taken to Kootenai Health for treatment. 20-30736

• Deputies did some follow-up on the welfare check from the previous day in Cataldo. They were able to track down a neighbor who had a key. While enroute to the residence, the neighbor made entry and located the female on the floor and not able to get up. Medical was called and transported her to the hospital for treatment.

Evening Shift handled the following notable calls:

• Deputies responded to Lynx Trail for runaway report. The juvenile’s friends were contacted in hopes of finding the juvenile but he was not located. Report completed. 20-30810

• Deputies responded to Silverwood for a fight involving 8 young people. Only minor injuries were sustained and no one wished pursuit of any charges. 20-30799.

• Deputies responded to El Patio in Stateline for trespassing call. A male was acting strange but no crimes occurred. A trespass notice was delivered and the male left the business. 20-30800.

Night Shift handled the following notable calls:

• A Deputy stopped and arrested a male for his warrant on a traffic stop at Warren x Freyburg. 20-30823

Overall pretty nice change of pace with calls. Please be aware of the very hot temperatures forecasted for the rest of the week and make sure you are hydrating regularly.

Also with the hot temps, the increase in fire danger has also gone up. Please be cautions and help prevent fires.
