Gary John Guglielmo, 64

Gary John Guglielmo (“Gman”) passed away unexpectedly from heart failure on July 15, 2020, at his home in Post Falls, Idaho. Gary was born April 26, 1956, in San Jose, Calif., to parents, George W. Guglielmo and Madeline M. (Sordello) Guglielmo. He grew up in Morgan Hill, Calif., at his family’s winery and vineyard. He was in the first graduating class of St. Catherine Elementary in Morgan Hill, and later attended Bellarmine Prep High School in San Jose. He graduated college at the University of Nevada, Reno, in 1984, with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting.

On June 5, 2004, Gary married Ginger Hendrickson of Martinez, Calif., in the city of San Casciano, Italy.

After graduating from college, Gary returned home to his family’s business to join his parents and his brothers as an owner of the Emilio Guglielmo Winery. He was a general manager for 30 years, and upon retiring in 2017, he moved to Post Falls with his wife and three youngest children.

While managing the winery, the business accumulated numerous awards, recognitions and accolades. Gary took pride in guiding the expansion of the facilities, including their event center and Piazza de Maddalena.

Gary enjoyed many hobbies and interests throughout his life. In addition to piloting private airplanes, he also loved boating, water skiing, heli-skiing, sprint car racing, golfing, shooting, remodeling houses, scuba diving, and he especially loved traveling with his family.

Gary was a member of many organizations, including the NRA, Morgan Hill Fish and Game, FBI Club (Full Blooded Italians), as well as a parishioner at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Morgan Hill and St. George’s Catholic Church in Post Falls.

Gary is survived by his wife, Ginger Guglielmo of Post Falls; his children, Gregorio, Giuliana and Gia Guglielmo of Post Falls; Cody Butler and his wife, Jasmine Butler of Reno, Nev.; Michael and Alexa Guglielmo of Reno, Nev; his brothers, George and Jan Guglielmo, Gene and Laura Guglielmo; eight nieces and nephews; and two granddaughters.

Gary was deeply loved by many friends and by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting and knowing him. He is greatly missed.

Gary was a co-founder of Guglielmo’s Hope, Inc., which is a foundation created to help orphans around the world. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Guglielmo’s Hope, Inc., 11947 W. Riverview Drive, Post Falls, ID 83854.

A service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at St. George’s Catholic Church, 2010 N. Lucas St., Post Falls, ID 83854.

A celebration of life will be held at his family’s winery in California in the near future. T.B.D.
