Keegan Blake Woods

When someone looks up #livinforkeegs, I want them to see posts about Keegan, and just how awesome he was. For those of you who never got to meet Keegan, let me tell you about him.

Keegan Blake Woods was born on August 22, 2002 in Coeur d’Alene. He was our son, our buddy, and best friend. He was kind and had a HUGE heart. Keegan was very emotional and sensitive, although he only showed that side to his family and a few very close friends. That kid had the greatest laugh!

He gave the BEST hugs. No, seriously, THE BEST HUGS!

Keegan was a smiling, laughing, joking around goofball and such a lover bug. He loved his friends, but there were a select few that he considered his best friends. The people he could count on just like they counted on him. Keegan would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it (which is clearly evident with the missing clothes some of y’all have and won’t return. LOL).

Keegan was respectful but was not afraid to stand up for himself if he was being treated poorly. He was the type of friend that would always stick up for you. Keegan made a huge impact in our local communities and across multiple school districts. He seemed to know everyone, and everyone knew of him. Keegan was funny. He was handsome. He was very smart. He had big goals. He loved Jesus and made peace with the Lord just a short time before he died. We know he’s in Heaven watching over us.

Keegan loved all aspects of the military and was planning to enlist after high school. He would always, without fail, shake the hand of any Veteran he saw, particularly the older generations. He instilled this respect in his little sister Addison, and now she makes sure she greets every Veteran she sees.

Keegan loved to work on trucks and fix things like his dad. He was very smart when it came to diesels and learned from one of the best diesel mechanics in the area. Keegan loved to lift weights. He even held a squat record at Timberlake High School in Spirit Lake. He enjoyed baseball throughout his younger years and went on to play for the JV team his freshman year at Timberlake. He also loved football and was looking forward to playing his senior year.

Camping, fishing, snowboarding, riding dirt bikes, photography, playing video games with his sister, and longboarding with his Nana were also some of Keegan’s favorite pastimes. The one thing he always wanted to do though, was travel. He couldn’t wait to see the world and always promised to take his mama with him.

Keegan is missed so much. He held a special place in so many peoples’ hearts. When other adults and parents reach out and tell us we raised a great child, I know we did our job as parents. We truly are hurting with his loss. For those of us that were able to have him in our lives, we were the ones truly blessed by an angel.

Keegan Blake Woods went to be with the Lord on 06/25/2019 at the young age of 16. He is survived by his parents, Casey and Brandi Woods, and his little sister and partner in crime, Addison. He is also survived by his grandparents, Steve & Brenda Pfitzer of Post Falls and Mark Keyser of Priest River, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. We love you KK, and that will never change. You made us proud. RIP Keegan Blake Woods. 8/22/2002 - 06/25/2019. #livinforkeegs
