Williams promoted to manager at Welch Comer & Associates, Inc. Horizon Credit Union and Icon Credit Union plan merger

Welch Comer & Associates, Inc. recently promoted Ashley Williams to the position of project manager.

Williams began her career with Welch Comer & Associates, Inc. in 2011 and focuses on wastewater, environmental engineering and water resources projects in both North Idaho and Eastern Washington. She holds both a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering and a Master of Science degree in water resources from the University of Idaho, and is a registered engineer in both Idaho and Washington.

Horizon Credit Union in the Spokane Valley and Icon Credit Union, headquartered in Boise, have announced plans to partner through a merger. Pending regulatory and member approval, the expanded organization will have combined assets of more than $1.5 billion, with 28 branch locations across Idaho, Oregon, Montana and Washington.

The combined 28 branch locations of both organizations will stay open and operate as usual as they work to fully integrate their systems in 2020, with completion expected this year, pending approvals.

Connie Miller, current Icon Credit Union President and CEO, will continue to lead the current market in the new organization as regional president. Jeff Adams, Horizon Credit Union President and CEO, will be president and CEO of the combined organization. Two members of Icon’s current board of directors will transition to the ongoing board, and no employees at Icon or Horizon will lose their jobs as a result of the merger.
