Wine House CDA to open on East Sherman

Gelato by the Lake opens downtown Monet Floors moves north to Hayden Interlake Pharmacy joins Kootenai Health And now the Tidbits

Offering fun and unique wines, craft beers and small food plates, Wine House CDA plans to open Friday at 1621 E. Sherman, which formerly was The Hock Shop.

The place includes a retail wall with wines to go and merchandise from local small businesses, inside table and bar seating, and an outside patio with fire pits.

The goal is to provide a fun and relaxed environment to have drinks with friends. It will book private parties and events and will offer live music and a wine club in the fall.

Owners are Conor and Nicole Hammons with manager Hailey Laws. Hours are 3 p.m. to closing weekdays and 11 a.m. to closing Saturday and Sunday. Phone 208-930-1498. Check www.winehousecda.com.

Offering 15 to 20 varieties of gelato daily, made of natural ingredients, Gelato by the Lake opened this weekend at 217 Sherman Ave.

With single scoops and specialty sundaes, the gelato has no artificial coloring or flavoring. Owner Katie Stillert moved here from Germany, where she worked in a gelato shop and was inspired by friends with 50 years of generational recipes. She also offers coffees and tea.

A full-pledge flooring store with granite and quartz, Monet Floors has moved to 11363 N. Government Way in Hayden. Owner Diane Monet had been at 4057 Government Way since 2016.

Products include hardwood, tile, carpeting, natural stone, ceramic, porcelain, laminate, vinyl and custom rugs.

With a one-on-one concierge atmosphere, hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday and by appointment. Phone 208-762-7006. Check www.monetfloors.net.

Interlake Pharmacy at 700 Ironwood Drive is now Kootenai Health Pharmacy at the same location.

Tim and Kris Brown, who owned Interlake for 33 years, will stay for the transition period. It will include the prescription information and products.

Interlake employees Jim Sharp, Lori Sharp, Cindy Early, Jennifer Dailey, Deneice Deloso and Kathrine Devlin will remain. Jim Miller retired July 1 after 26 years. Barbara Conti is director of ambulatory pharmacy service at Kootenai Health.
