McCall makes masks mandatory
As confirmed cases of COVID-19 continue to increase throughout Idaho, the city of McCall joins two others in making face coverings mandatory in public places.
The McCall City Council held an emergency meeting Wednesday night, where they passed a resolution and health order requiring masks in McCall in all public indoor spaces orphan 6 feet of separation can’t be maintained. The council voted four to one in favor of the resolution.
In effect starting today, the order applies to all buildings within the city of McCall, as well as five miles outside the city limits.
Exemptions include children under the age of five, people who cannot medically tolerate wearing a face covering and people who are hearing impaired or communicating with a hearing-impaired person where the ability to see the mouth is essential for communication.
Violators may face a $100 fine. McCall Police Chief Justin Williams reportedly said he believes the fine will enable his officers to educate and then enforce when needed.
The cities of Moscow and Hailey have also made face coverings mandatory.
