Betty is Queen of the Century
For her 90th birthday, Betty Lundy Evans went on a motorcycle ride for the first time.
For her 100th, she toned it down a notch and celebrated Saturday with a drive-by birthday parade in front of the Living Springs Assisted Living Facility in Post Falls.
Betty wore a sash that declared her “Miss Betty — Queen of the Century” as she smiled and waved at the decorated cars full of family, friends, and church members.
“The cars, golf carts, and motorcycles were all decorated to celebrate Betty and her amazing life,” said her daughter, Sharyl Williams. “It has not always been an easy one, but she has taught all who know her what it means to persevere in this life with a faith in God and an inner strength that is still present to this day.”
Betty was born on July 3, 1920, and has seen a world of changes in 100 years, Williams said.
“Everyone who knows her has been made better by her presence in our lives,” she said.
