Gary Neil Knapp (Cain), 66

Gary Neil Knapp (Cain), 66, passed away on Jan. 19, 2020, at Kootenai Health.

He was born in Superior, Mont., on Jan. 12, 1954. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Alice White; his father, Lyle Jesse Cain; his brother, Ron Cain and wife, Margy Bradymire.

Gary loved to fish and spent many years in Alaska working on commercial fishing boats. He also worked in the construction field.

Gary is survived by three children: Kami, Rory and Cory; two grandchildren: Gage and Kristin; one brother, Kevin (Julie) Cain; two sisters: Connie (John) King and Carla Bennett; and sister-in-law, Diane Cain.

He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his family, including many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and especially, his little dog, Maggie Mae.

Gary had many life-long friends. We don’t believe he ever met a stranger!

A celebration of life for Gary is planned for the spring. Arrangements are provided by Yates Funeral Home.
